Couponing!

Well, back in September I was hearing a lot about how people were saving a lot of money with coupons so I decided to give it a try. I had always thought that using coupons would only save you a couple of dollars but boy was I wrong..

Since September I have spent $227.74 on $1986.92 worth of stuff. That is 88% savings. This is only at Rite Aid and is including diapers, pull-ups, wipes, toilet paper, paper towels and all other household items that we regularly use plus a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have ever bought if I had to pay full price. That is also including most of the Christmas presents we bought for people.

It's become not only a hobby but a way I can save a ton of money and bless others by giving away stuff we don't need.

I have had a lot of people ask how I do it and want me to teach them so I am going to try to start posting the deals I get and hopefully post some easy deals to do for beginners.

This is a deal that I did a couple of days ago-
Total shelf cost $67.48
Amount I paid $3.93
(94% Savings)

30 Day Blog Challenge. Failed....

Well I guess I shouldn't of started the blog challenge so close to the holiday because I have been busy, busy ,busy. I don't usually have much time on the computer because of the kids so the time I  do get I usually am checking facebook or researching deals. So once again I have failed at updating my blog regularly. But now I have a different idea....

Day 01 - Your Favorite Song

I'm having a really hard time deciding what my favorite song is. There are so many wonderflul songs out there. So I am going to split this up in 2 catergories.

My favorite song from a christian artist is "My Savior My God" by Aaron Shust. I just love that song, whenever it comes on the radio I can't help but turn it up and worship God with all of my heart.

My favorite song from a secular artist is probably "More That That" by The Backstreet Boys. I have been a fan of BSB for 12 years. So most of my favorite music is from them.

Play Dough for Riley

The past couple of weeks Riley has been asking for Play-Doh because his dried up and I had to throw it away but I keep forgetting to pick some up when we are at Wal-mart. So today I decided to make some play dough instead. I found a recipe for No Cook Play Dough and Riley helped me make it. He had so much fun!

So here's the recipe-
In a large bowl combine 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, 1 cup salt, and 1 1/4 cup water. Gradually add 2 tablespoons corn starch and 3 cups all-purpose flour. Knead until smooth. Divide dough into part and add food coloring(I've heard of people using cool-aid too). Add small amounts of water if dough is dryer flour if dough is sticky.
After the play dough was done it kept Riley busy for an hour and a half. I put it plastic baggies but I'm not sure how long it will last. If I make it again the only thing I will do differently is I will make it all one color because after Riley was done with in it was all one color anyways.

Love For My Children.

My whole life I've Always known that I wanted to be a mommy. As a little girl my favorite thing to do was play with my baby dolls. I would change their diapers, feed them, dress them and even take pictures of them.
Growing up there was a lot of times I wasn't sure what I wanted or who I was but I always knew that I wanted to be a mommy.
Becoming a mommy was a whole different thing. When I was pregnant with Riley I spent so many wonderful hours imagining what it would be like when he was finally here. But all those images could never compare to the moment I first saw him. I can hardly put into words how strong my love for him was instantly.
Watching Riley grow and learn new things everyday makes me love him even more.(If that is possible).
When Riley was a little baby I used to think how could I possibly love another as much as I love him. Don't get me wrong I am deeply in love with my husband, he is my best friend. But the love for a child is different than the love for a spouse.
But then it hit me If I can love one child this much, then of course I can love another just as much. God's love for me is so strong yet he shares that same strong love with everyone of us.
2 years after Riley was born Lilianna came into this world and I fell in love with her the same way I did with Riley.
God has given us these two wonderful children and trusts us to teach them what they need to know and to be an example of his love to them.
God has also blessed us with Cameron, my stepson and although I am not his mom I know that God has chosen me to be his step mom, and I'm always asking God to teach me more how to be the best step mom that I can be to him.
